The Power of London Corinthians

July 16, 2012

Toastmasters, Corinthians, Friends,

After another outstanding meeting on Thursday, I couldn’t help thinking of my first appearance at Corinthians, two and a half years ago. At the time, I remember wondering as I watched whether Corinthians merely attracts great speakers with an easy confidence on stage, or whether it builds them from scratch.

It is one of public speaking’s cruellest ironies that it is often toughest to observe our own progress. But the proof that Corinthians works is easy to see in the improvement evident in others. Over the sixty or so meetings that I’ve been a member of the club I have seen quiet, seemingly underconfident speakers and confident, ribbon-winning icebreakers alike learn to give powerful speeches that charm and entertain. Of course it’s no surprise that those who we see most often and throw themselves into the life of the club undergo the biggest transformation.

Whether you be the newest of members or the most distinguished of toastmasters, there is no better place to improve your public speaking and bring a smile to your lips than London Corinthians.

Best regs,

London Corinthians President, 2012-13

Well done with the first meeting. If people working or living in the London Victoria area want to know more about becoming a better public speaker, please visit the London Corinthians website
