December 19, 2012

Jakub (left) was international speech contest champion for London in 2012, and a runner-up at the national competition

Q: When and why did you join London Corinthians?

When I joined London Corinthians (2010) I was already a member of a Polish-speaking club, but I definitely needed to improve my English. My mentor recommended me going to London Corinthians and I was hooked from the very first meeting

Q: How has it helped you as a public speaker?

By listening to excellent speeches and evaluations I became good enough to win Division B contest and come 2nd in UK & Ireland. It’s a tremendous difference between where I was 2 years ago and where I am now

Q: How has it helped you as a public speaker?

I am much more comfortable now to speak also outside Toastmasters, especially at work or even at a party!

Q: What final advice would you give someone wanting to improve their public speaking ability?

They need to attend meetings regularly, use every opportunity to speak and not be afraid to ask more experienced member for advice. I’ve never met in Corinthians anybody who was unhelpful.
