George advocates practice as the path to success in public speaking

Q: When and why did you join London Corinthians?

I started in February 2010 after beginning a career in consulting and realising I needed to improve at speaking in public.

Q: How has it helped you as a public speaker?

Immeasurably. Much more confident, less concerned before I have a speaking engagement. I perform more reliably on the day.

Q: Why do you think toastmasters has been so successful in producing top public speakers?

Three reasons. Practice, Practice, Practice. Public speaking skills are like a muscle, you need to use them to make and keep them fit. The people who come, week in, week out, are the ones who see the biggest improvements. Oh and top quality feedback that gives you opportunities to improve.

Q: Why is LC the best TM club in London?

LC is such a great club because of its members. Fun, friendly, willing to have a laugh, dedicated to their learning and great at coaching others to improve.

Q: What final advice would you give someone wanting to improve their public speaking ability?

Come to Corinthians, of course, and come often. It’ll be the best investment in your public speaking that you’ll ever make.
