London Corinthians Testimonial: Aldous, Healthcare IT Manager.

June 3, 2013

Q: Why and when did you join LC?

July 2012, I changed jobs which required me to conduct presentations and speeches in front of bigger crowds. I wanted to have the confidence to convince large groups of incredibly serious people that I’m right. Also I might one day try my hand at musicals…

Q: How has it helped you as a public speaker?

It’s made me a lot more confident and actually believe in my ability , I dare say to the point where although I still get nervous I strangely enjoy speaking now– something I would never have thought would happen a year ago.

Aldous

Aldous has been at Corinthians for around a year and found it helped him give presentations in front of bigger crowds

It allows you to practice regularly. This is key. Day or even week long courses won’t benefit you if you then don’t have a chance to speak in public often.  Feedback is the other crucial element. You are always learning and improving.  And there is absolutely no pressure in this environment. You’ll get clapped off even if your trousers fall down!

Q: Why is LC the best TM club in London?

It’s fun! Full of interesting, hilarious and slightly odd characters, a real mix. I tried two or three other TM clubs before LC but knew this was the one for me when I heard the laughter as I entered for the first time.

Q: What final advice would you give to someone wanting to improve their public speaking ability?

Practice, practice, practice, practice, practice…..do I need to keep going? Come down and see for yourself what the fuss is all about!
